Literature Text

suckin' on my lower lip
you know you want to get it quick
pull and push and shove and rip
rough and hot, against the brick
biting hard on skin and bone
here and now we're not alone
make my neck your hiding place
and i'll take solace in the space
between your hungry tongue and teeth
caught by current, pulled underneath
we're wandering souls
grasping at straws
pulling hair
undoing bras
seeing beauty
blind to flaws
we're opportunists touchin' fire
licking wounds, full of desire
wanting touch
grabbing something here that's real
faces flushed, taking as much
as we can give
breaking from a pack of lies
'shouldn't' is no way to live
you and i are a fun surprise

I like the content of this; there are some really good lines. I think the fire that the beginning lines have is somewhat stolen by a couple of rhythmic trips in the later lines. I might not be reading it right, but I found myself focusing less on the words and more on the meter.

Poetry. What a jerk. :D Read it out loud, if you haven't already, and see if you notice it.
